Simplicity is difficult to achieve but is ultimately the most rewarding facet of any product or experience. Therein lies the potential for a palpable emotional response. Resonant human experiences built on the foundation of simplicity. Marcus tries to achieve this with every single space he develops.

New Balance Otruska Pack Launch

Type: Event
Location: Venice Beach, CA

Stripped down. Minimal. Monochromatic. This environment was built to draw one in and stimulate one’s creative senses.

Inspired by the artwork fo James Turrell,
Marcus set out to create an environment bathed in light. What was visually perceptible was simplified by restricting the color spectrum. Attention was given to certain elements by utilizing full spectrum light sparingly.

Banc of California Stadium

Marcus led the creative direction on behalf of LAFC for the FFE (furniture, fixtures, equipment) package of Banc of California Stadium. He worked shoulder to shoulder with Gensler's project staff, steering each of the stadiums spaces touches/finishes  in a direction that uniquely expresses a facet of this cities character and history.

LAFC Performance Center

Type: 30,000 sq. ft facility
Location: on the campus of CSLA

“The LAFC Performance Center embodies the culture of the Club and the city, both aesthetically and functionally. The design emphasizes the integration of all LAFC personnel, creating a place for staff and players to work, plan, and collaborate as colleagues. Indoor/outdoor connectivity and transparency are at the root of the design. Every space that faces the practice pitch maximizes opportunities for players to live, work, and play in the optimum Los Angeles climate. Located in the heart of the city at Cal State LA, the LAFC Performance Center partnership with the university aligns with their mutual mission to engage directly with neighborhoods and communities in Los Angeles. - Gensler

LAFC Experience Center

Type: Ticket Sales Location
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Led the narrative and creative direction of the LAFC Experience Center, a space designed as a way for fans and prospective fans to check out the vision of the Club and details of the Banc of California Stadium project prior to the stadiums opening. Tours of the Experience Center, were via appointment. The space was built in a linear fashion, revealing each part of LAFC’s story at the discretion of the pace of the tour guide. Worked in lockstep with local fabricators Penwal. The space was also designed with a flexible space at its center, perfect for hosting small gatherings.
